Kashmir, for long, had been cherished as ‘heaven on earth’. Poets went ga ga singing about the beauty of the most attractive place on the planet.
The same piece of land is burning continuously for along time now.
Terrorists set it ablaze with their bombs and bullets and with the abominable hatred they spread across the valley. Hindu pundits were thrown out of their homes and had to be sent outside the state as refugees. No outsider is allowed to settle down in the state (it happens only in India!!!) so it is but natural to belief that the fire was kept alive by those who have lived in the state for such a long time. politicians made sure that the fire does not go down. people across the border were always there to help them out.
Omar abdullah spoke fluently in the parliament stating with emphasis that he is a muslim and he is an Indian and as long as Muslims are there, amarnath yatra would not be obstructed. the land belongs to them, he claimed and he would not let it be given away. There was a big applause and everyone considered it as the best speech of the confidence motion.
Where were you Mr abdullah and your family when Kashmiri pundits were being wiped out of the state? Did anyone realise that the land belonged to those pundits too who were being dragged away? Did any one think that the land being provisioned for amarnath shrine board for maintenance of devotees is not being given away to some individual or an outsider?
Did he realise who all were up in uprising against transfer of the land to the shrine board? Could he not smell the hands of terrorists? he felt it abominable to stand with BJP during confidence motion as BJP is a communal party. what was the motive behind stopping land transfer? was it not a communal move to appease a sect of society?
Mahbooba mufti pulled the rug from beneath the government for this issue. She could not speak a single line in the parliament when asked for during the motion debate. what kind of a leader do we have? she again supported the same congress at centre which she upstaged in the state and in order to gain such support to save the centre government, Mr. Gulam nabi azad revoked his own order.
Later when Hindus took it up onto themselves to get the land, which was transferred to them after due diligence, a discussion is being asked for by the centre government. Did we not need a discussion when the land transfer was being opposed by militant backed Muslim groups? It has been more than a month now that the protests are going on and several people are on road, but the government is dilly-dallying in coming out clearly. Hindu youths are being killed by the police and there is no concern for the same. Could the government be similarly silent if the state machinery would have done something similar in Gujarat or in Rajasthan?
it is said that the yatra has been going on like this for a long time so what is the need of changing it? my dear, it is saying why are we looking for improvement in our state of living and facilities? I stayed in a small house when I was a child. It does not mean that I must be made to stay in such house for lifelong. I have the rights to ask for better facilities?
Haven’t we seen changes in facilities for pilgrims of Haj or that of vaishno devi or Tirupati? So why should we stand against providing better facilities to those who are undergoing a tortuous journey in the name of pilgrimage?
The question is not whom the land belong to or who should be using the land. The question is where are we heading towards with appeasement policies? Why do we feel so weak in taking any step against Muslim community’s wishes? Not every Muslim in the country is against harmony and better facility being shared with his neighbour and those who are, are separatists. why should we listen to the separatists?
I do not find burning buses, stopping traffic, bringing life to standstill to be any good. It really hurts when the economy is pushed back, that too at the time of inflation running high, economy slowdown running havoc and future of so many people unsure. I would not support anyone, whichever community he or she belongs to to burn my nation. But at the same time the Constitution provides everyone a right to equality. Then how come some are more than others? Why cannot we all be treated in the same fashion as an Indian rather than a Hindu or Muslim or any other religion? Why cant so-called secular parties stand against terrorist outfits unanimously forgetting which religion they belong to?
Why cannot we stop being afraid?
Really the Kashmir’s ongoing news is disheartening
The head of India is in pains – and only the strict step of central govt can correct the situation..
